Fire
In the event of a
fire
:
If you discover a fire in church pull the nearest fire alarm.
When the fire alarm sounds, remain calm and follow the directions given by the priest, deacon, ushers who will identify where the fire is.
Every fire alarm will be taken seriously. Do not presume a false alarm.
When the alarm sounds, proceed calmly and quickly to the nearest exit away from the fire.
If there is smoke, use a cloth to cover your mouth and nose and stay low to the ground as you proceed to your exit.
Assist those who have difficulty exiting the church.
Once you are outdoors, seek a safe location away from the buildings.
Be certain that you do not obstruct major roadways or fire lanes when gathering outdoors.
Report all injuries to the nearest usher or other parish personnel and assist the injured if you are able.
